You can even gain an audience with a local Shaman to learn about medicinal plants.

During the day, rapid excursion launches put you in tributary streams of black water in search of wild animal life, where you'll also have a chance to do some fishing. Nocturnal excursions searching for bats, capybara, black caiman, poison frogs, and an infinite number of other species provide more eye-opening adventure.

The weather in the Amazon is hot and sticky, and the wet season lasts from around November to May, with the river reaching its highest point in May. The rainy season is the best time to encounter rare wildlife.
