A Fancy Moab/Telluride Trip
submitted by scott58

The Utah Landscape
My girlfriend and I wanted to go the southwest, but she's really not the camping type. She likes nice things and likes to be comfortable. We've always talked about going to the National Parks in Utah and then someone told us about the Sorrel River Ranch. I can only describe this place as awesome. It's right in Moab and a stones throw to Arches National Park. We also were only a 3 hour beautiful drive to Telluride Colorado. We stayed three nights at the Sorrel River and mostly just hiked around. There's plenty to do if you like to be active. Rafting, hiking, and our favorite; repelling. From there we drove to Telluride and rented a condo. We hiked, river rafted (Do the small kayaks. You will see the rental store in downtown Telluride). You must drive back to Grand Junction for a flight back home (Telluride flights are hard to come by and not very reliable), but it's a small price to pay for a great vacation.
Tips and Advice:
- Don't forget to see the great Arches National Park.
- The Telluride Hotel is great and in a perfect location.
- Bring an appetite. The resaurants in Telluride are great.
