Summer Family Reunion in the Okanagan
submitted by Andrea

The beach and dock of our vacation rental
The Okanagan region of BC is packed with fun filled family activities for all ages. Our mid-size family reunion consisted of renting a vacation home on Okanagan Lake through Owner Direct Vacation Rentals (www.OwnerDirect.com). We (family of 5) arrived from Vancouver and met up my cousin's family (family of 4) who currently live in Calgary. We brought our boat since it had a boat dock.
The week was spent boating, swimming, sun tanning and building sand castles. When the kids needed a break from the sun, we drove into Vernon and went bowling.
The evenings were spent barbecuing and dining outdoors. All in all it was a fabulous trip to catch up with relatives.
Tips and Advice:
- Bring sun screen and many hats - the sun is hot!!!
- By renting a vacation rental, we didn't have to spend a lot of money on restaurant meals.
