Oahu

Waikiki Beach, shopping, Pearl Harbor, surfing

Oahu offers the combination of tropical beauty and relaxing trade winds with big-city amenities. Kick back on the Waikiki sand, shop until you drop, or tour Pearl Harbor and other Oahu sites. This famous stretch of beach is lively, with beachfront hotels, tons of shops, and plenty of restaurants.

Your group can visit Pearl Harbor and learn about Oahu's rich history and culture by participating in distinctively Hawaiian activities like surfing, lei making, luaus, and outrigger canoeing. Visit the International Marketplace and join in the traditional entertainment at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

If your group is looking to get out and explore, rent a car or book a tour. Stop on the north shore for enjoying shaved ice, watching surfers, or swimming with green sea turtles. Explore the Waimea Valley, ancient land of Oahu's high priests, for waterfalls, rare plants and birds, a restored temple, chieftain burial caves and ancient village archeological sites. Or hike a remote Hawaiian trail on the Windward side of the island, ascending a ridge before opening up onto verdant mountains and dramatic cliff views. After crossing cascading streams through a variety of forest ecosystems, you can take a refreshing splash in one of the mountain pools. On to the south coast of the island, you'll find volcanic sea cliffs, crescent bays and rich, blue water before heading back to the beauty and bustling activity of Waikiki.
