On the Big Island of Hawaii, which is twice as big as all the other Hawaiian Islands combined, you can watch the earth formed by the Volcano Goddess, Pele, as lava flows from Kilauea into the ocean at Volcanoes National Park. Ride by horseback through 100-foot cliffs and waterfalls through the Waipio Valley. Stroll on black, white, red, and even green sand beaches and then head up to the dormant, and often snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano.
In Maui, you can enjoy nature via the curves of the famous winding Hana Highway where, at the end of your journey, you can swim in the Seven Sacred Pools. Later, view families of whales right off the beaches of Kaanapali and then have a great dinner and shopping in Lahaina. Early the next morning, drive up for group yoga as the sun rises on Haleakala, The House of the Sun.
On Kauai, your group could indulge in a healing retreat with spa treatments based on the island's local mysticism. Spas in Kauai offer traditional Hawaiian healing practices called Lomi Lomi, as well as European and outdoor treatments. Also enjoy reflexology, wraps, scrubs, facials, and hydrotherapy in a lush, tropical setting.
Honolulu, Oahu is a true cosmopolitan city and a melting pot of cultures, people, and food. Locate the cuisine that is the most popular with the locals like Chinese dumplings, Vietnamese summer rolls, Hawaiian pastries (mango bread and poi muffins), Thai barbecued satays, bento boxes, Hawaii's crack seed (a dried fruit popular with all true Hawaiians), or perhaps Hawaiian plate lunch (ice-cream scoops of rice, macaroni salad and 15-20 meats, including Spam). To work off the food, shop all afternoon!
