Los Cabos
Big-game fishing, world-class golf, lots of activities
In Los Cabos, the beauty of the natural setting is front and center everywhere you go. Dramatic desert meets deep blue sea at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, where natural rock outcrops and arches at Land's End offer great snorkeling and scuba diving among playful sea lions. You will also find miles of beach, desert trails, and rugged mountains to explore. Join an ATV tour or take a Baja racing-style off-road vehicle for a test drive. Set out on mountain bike or enjoy a breathtaking horseback ride to Faro Viejo to watch the sunset.
Los Cabos is also renowned for its excellent year-round fishing and abundance of big game fish—earning it the nickname of "Marlin Alley". Even with its bustling activity, Los Cabos still retains much of its traditional Mexican character with fresh flower markets, intimate cafes and some of the best mariscos (seafood) around.
From January through March, whale watching in Los Cabos is a must-do activity. Throughout the year, diving and snorkeling in the protected marine sanctuary, Cabo San Lucas Bay means encountering colorful tropical fish and other exotic marine life. The Sea of Cortez is perfect for kayaking or playing in the ocean. Sunset cruises are a great way to take in the stark beauty of the region while ending the day and easing into the night.
There are also an abundance of great golf courses with fantastic vistas. Los Cabos is the golf capital of Mexico. The Cabo del Sol golf course is ranked one of the top 50 in the world. Read our Los Cabos Golf article for more details.
