U.S. National Parks
Natural beauty, wildlife, and sites of historical signficance
If your group is looking to explore sites of historical and cultural significance, spectacular natural beauty, or abundant wildlife, try a tour of one of the nearly 400 National Parks in the United States. National park visits can be as diverse geographically as the geysers of Yellowstone, the towering presence of Mt. McKinley in Denali, and the ravines of The Grand Canyon. Activities available are diverse, from viewing dinosaur fossils in Colorado, paddling around the historical islands of Boston Harbors, learning about the civil rights movement in Selma, to climbing active volcanoes in Hawaii.
A package tour can allow you to get the most out of these diverse and unforgettable places during your vacation while having transportation, comfortable lodging, and in-depth information provided for you along the way. Your group can enjoy America's wonders with a professional and knowledgeable guide while being assured of viewing the best areas of the national parks with ample free time to explore on your own.
If you want to visit the Grand Canyon, for example, a packaged tour might offer a sunrise view before breakfast and an optional "flightseeing" trip over the canyon. Departing via Desert View Point, you'll experience more magnificent perspectives and then travel to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. This park is home to 30,000 acres of stunning rock formations. Stay overnight at renowned Goulding's Lodge, located in the heart of Monument Valley and where Hollywood directors and stars stayed during the filming of famous motion pictures such as Stagecoach and Fort Apache. That evening you'll enjoy a Navajo Cookout, followed by entertainment performed by local Navajos.
Another package tour might offer a visit to Mount Vernon (George Washington's home) and the Yorktown Historical Battlefield and a colonial-style dinner at a local tavern. The next day the tour might visit the archeological site of Jamestown and the Historic Area at Colonial Williamsburg.
If you can, try traveling to America's national parks during "shoulder season" in the spring or fall. In addition to being less crowded, these seasons boast some of the most spectacular scenery. If you end up traveling during the summer or other school break, try to find a tour during the week.
