For a trip with just the guys, Vancouver, British Columbia offers you and the boys lots of natural beauty for outdoor sports with a top-notch party vibe for indoor fun. You can hit the dirt and water by day, get cleaned up, and then go out on the town at night.
For exhilarating adventure on land, grab some mountain bikes. Many world-class trails are within a 20-30 minute drive from Vancouver. The North Shore, consisting of three different mountain areas, is world-renowned for its mountain biking. Many trails include obstacles such as ladders, skinny logs, bridges, and boulder drops.
Get advice from a local bike shop if you and your buddies are not totally sure where to ride, as the difficulty of trails varies dramatically here and many trails don't loop back to their starting point. Some trails can be ridden year round, but the best time for riding is March through October.
Vancouver's adventures by water won't disappoint the bros either. Incredible sea kayaking is accessible via bus from the city, such as the calm waters of Burrard Inlet and False Creek. On the North Shore, paddle right out from Deep Cove to explore Indian Arm, a finger-shaped fjord into the Coast Range Mountains, where you can paddle past old-growth forests and waterfalls and view birds like ravens and bald eagles.
For indoor entertainment, enjoy Vancouver restaurants, music venues, and clubs. Vancouver has fantastic seafood restaurants, many with vistas of the area, like Bridges, C Restaurant, and Monk McQueens.
You can choose from many live music options, too. Check out Cellar Restaurant, an intimate jazz club with with great martinis. Or try Yale, specializing in rhythm-and-blues with weekend jam sessions where locals share the stage with legendary talents, including the likes of John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Page. There are some classic concert venues as well, notably the Commodore Ballroom with its bouncing sprung dance-floors.
If you've still got energy and the adventerous spirit, you and the guys can head to the clubs. VIP service is often well worth it to avoid the long lines at places like Caprice and Plaza, both located on Granville street. Atlantis and Au Bar are also nearby. For a mellower night out, hit a cigar bar (Cuban cigars are legal in Canada) like local's favorite City Cigar, or the upscale Vancouver Cigar Company and La Casa del Habano. You will most likely never have a dull moment in Vancouver!
