For groups traveling together, Cancun is all about the beach! Enjoy Cancun together for its accessible shoreline and clear Caribbean Sea.

Here, the white-sand remains cool to bare feet even on the hottest days along Cancun's Hotel Zone. Staying in the zone offers your group a base for snorkeling coral reefs, renting jet skis, day trips, or enjoying dancing, dining, and beach strolls.

Following Hurricane Wilma back in 2005, Cancun took the opportunity to widen its beaches and make them even more clean and white to attract returning travelers. The government funded the entire $20 million project.

All of Mexico's beaches are public property, so use the beach outside any of Cancun's hotels. Be especially careful on beaches fronting the open Caribbean, where undertow can be strong. By contrast, the waters of Mujeres Bay, at the north end of the island, are usually calm and ideal for swimming.

At almost every beach, you can rent a sailboard and take lessons, ride a parasail, try a variety of other fun water activities, or get an oceanfront massage.

For further adventure while visiting Cancun, visit ecological park Xcaret (about 30 miles south) and float in an underground river.

Be sure to visit together the amazing Mayan ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza. Indulge in Yucatecan cuisine, whose spicy flavors are different from the food anywhere else in Mexico and are considered to be the most authentic Mayan cuisine.
