Somak is a family-run business with a personal touch. Founded in 1968 by entrepreneur Suresh Sofat and run to this day by the Sofat family, the company has its origins in Kenya. In the beginning, Somak arranged charter flights for students to and from England. These flights came to be affectionately known as 'Lollipop Specials'. Rapidly becoming the largest charter operator on the Kenya/U.K. routes, Somak set the trend for quality products at affordable prices, which remains the objective of the company to this day.
