We introduced a monthly Group Travel Deals email newsletter, focused on travel with friends and family. Featured deals in the July newsletter included savings on girlfriend getaway escorted vacation packages, custom South American adventure trips, a bike tour with Tour de France ascents in the Alps, a cruise with Miss America, and about a dozen other deals. The availability of these deals reflects an emerging trend among travel providers to try to create compelling offers for small groups.
You can see many of the deals from the July newsletter on our main Group Travel Deals page.

To make it easier to find the content and deals that you are looking for, we introduced nearly 30 new tags in the Group Travel Guide. These now serve to categorize all of our group travel deals, as well as Group Travel Guide articles and research links. Click on any tag of interest wherever you see it and get a listing of the related deals, guide content, and research links.
We have incorporated a new Save button (see below) on all of the "by tag" pages and throughout the rest of the Group Travel Guide. This button allows you to quickly store and share travel research through Triporama's bookmark functionality. You can also tag each saved bookmark to categorize and organize your research in whatever way is optimal for your group trip planning. Note: you must sign up to save bookmarks with the Group Trip Planner.
Make sure to try out this new Save button on these pages!

We extended our Group Trip Planner tools today with the addition of the Topics tab.
Topics will help your group make decisions and coordinate on travel. Anyone can create a topic from the list of suggested topics (such as "where should we stay" and "trip budget") or from scratch. For each topic, everyone in the group can post their comments and information. Organize topics by tags, which also automatically integrates your group's bookmarks on the related topic page.
Topics is an extension of the functionality that was previously available on the Travel Details tab. Any information previously entered in your group trip's Travel Details has been moved to Topics. The list of topics there will include those that correspond to all of your travel details. You can access the information previously entered by selecting the topic name.
Please drop us a line with your feedback. We would love to hear what you think of the latest updates. Let us know what other features would help with your group trip planning!

New Group Trip Planner
Today we introduced lots of new features to the Group Trip Planner that will help get everyone involved in planning your trip!
Everyone in your group can help build a day-by-day trip plan that you can ultimately print and take with you on the trip. You can start before you have set the trip dates. Just assign trip plan items to a certain day (day 1, 2, 3, etc.) and these will automatically get aligned to the trip dates when your trip is set!
Get everyone focused by organizing a tasks list. An easy way to start is to choose relevant tasks from the suggested tasks list and then customize the name, link, description, and priority associated with each one to the extent you need to. As a trip leader, you can assign tasks to any group participant, the group (one task for the whole group, such as "Find Accommodations Options"), or everyone in the group (everyone gets assigned the same task as an individual, such as "Book Flights").
Also, creating a group trip is now easier than ever, as you can immediately invite others, initiate a date poll (or select from the flexible date alternatives), and set up automated reminders.
