How The Westin Jackson stands out
YOUR BEST SELF
My whole thing is finding a hotel that helps me become my best self. The Westin Jackson was made with this in mind. It is so uplifting and great destinations like the Mississippi Art Museum, Planetarium, restaurants, and bars are within walking distance.
The Westin indoor pool takes it to another level with its Saltwater Indoor Pool. Jumping in uplifts my mood and it feels extra healthy and fancy here.
Come for the luxury here in The Westin Jackson. And stay for the Southern Hospitality. This is definitely the kind of place to get your best self.
AVOID THE FEES
I researched the fees for the top hotels in the area. The Westin Jackson is on the low end for sure.
No Wifi fee. Although there are paid options for High-speed access.
Parking fee of $22 per night.
No resort fee.
I don't like any fees. And offering higher prices for High-speed Internet access always makes me nervous.
Still the free level of Wifi has been good to me so far and the parking fee is not out of line. I'll take a deep breath and remind myself I'm paying pennies on the dollar. And exhale.
Why it’s good with points
Most days through the year are 25,000 points per night or less. There are 30,000 point nights, but if your dates are flexible you'll likely be able to plan around them.
The 25,000 points per night is important because it's a sweet spot in the Marriott Bonvoy system. For instance, get a Marriott Bonvoy credit card with a 100,000 point sign-up bonus. That's enough for four nights at 25,000 per night. Plus when you reserve five nights, you'll use points for four nights and the fifth night is free.
This means that with one credit card you can book a five night stay at The Westin Jackson. That's a long stay at a 4 star hotel with one credit card.
A 75,000 point sign-up bonus works well too - get three free nights with just one credit card.
For me it's all about getting in my best mood. Staying at a nice 4 star hotel with lots to do in the area is a great way to lift me up. That's what I'm really getting from the credit card points.
Have a partner also get the credit card bonus - that's double the points and double the nights.
Get a Marriott Bonvoy credit card and get on your way.
Sapphire points are worth 1 Marriott Bonvoy point. They give you a way to get even more Bonvoy points.
Once you get your sign up bonus with the Marriott Credit Card then get a Sapphire Preferred card.
